Children and young adults with Communication Difficulties
PICSAT (Picture Supported Assessment Tool) has been developed to increase the capacity of young people with communication difficulties to communicate effectively about that things that matter to them.
It can be used to screen groups of young people and identify those with specific wellbeing needs.
This resource also enables young people with communication difficulties to be genuinely included in planning the steps required to bring about positive changes in their lives.
Another example is the new My Feelings Wellbeing Assessment tool for Children with Additional Learning Needs at school,
Viewpoint: Child's Journey reporting
As young people communicate using Viewpoint's Voice of the Child feedback tools, their views and experiences are captured live enabling practitioners and practice managers to generate Child's Journey or distance travelled reports. These include graphical content and are used:
In day to day direct work with young people and families
As direct communication from young people, to inform assessment, planning, and decision making processes affecting them
In practice supervision

My Mood Diary and adolescent mental health wellbeing
My Mood Diary and Young People's Mental Wellbeing
The Covid-19 crisis has had a profound impact on the mental health of many young people. Young Minds say his may be related to fears about the virus, social isolation, the loss of routine and structure, and in some cases bereavement or other traumatic experiences.
The mental health of looked-after children is significantly poorer than that of their peers, with almost half of children and young people in care meeting the criteria for a psychiatric disorder.
Young people leaving care in the UK are five times more likely to attempt suicide than their peers.
My Mood Diary - developed with Action For Children, this App is a way to help young people identify and take action around their feelings. If someone can keep track of changes in their mood, they may find that they have had more good days than they thought. It can also help them notice if any activities, places or people make them feel better or worse.

Some examples of Viewpoint's online reporting functionality for local managers are described in the Evaluation Reporting Guidance [basic] - click on the Resources below.
In addition, Viewpoint provides an additional quarterly reporting service where our researcher will provide commissioning councils/agencies with high level 'dashboard' reports based on user responses against local standards (such as local pledges), distance travelled reporting, and direct quotations alongside charts and graphics.
